A. JROTC Awards Program


Area high schools participate in the JROTC Awards Program which consists of a certificate and a medal provided to the chapter from MOAA National.

The recipient at each school is an outstanding cadet selected by the JROTC staff.

The awards are presented either by a Mountain Empire Chapter member or on behalf of the Chapter by the senior JROTC instructor during the school’s annual JROTC awards ceremony.

Participating area high schools and their military branch affiliations are alphabetically listed below:

B. ROTC Awards Program

 

A ROTC award and a $500.00 scholarship are presented by a Mountain Empire Chapter member to an outstanding East Tennessee State University (ETSU) junior cadet during the annual ROTC awards ceremony.

The candidate is selected by the ROTC staff and must be a dedicated cadet who is committed to remaining in the program and is also expected to receive a commission in the US Army after his or her senior year.

The award medal and certificate are provided to the Chapter by MOAA National however the Chapter provides the $500.00 scholarship.

LCOL Ed Champion (US Army), CWO4 Jim DuBose (US Army) and COL Jack Woolley (US Army)coordinate these programs.
